Dance for PD - Pacific Northwest Ballet

Inspired by my grandmother’s experience with Parkinson’s, I began volunteering with Dance for PD through the Seattle Theatre Group. I assist elderly dancers in weekly classes that use music, movement, and storytelling to improve balance, coordination, and joy. The most powerful part of the experience is witnessing participants who come not just for therapy, but for community. These moments deepened my belief in the mind-body connection and the potential of dance to uplift those navigating neurological challenges with grace and creativity.

Dance Movement Therapy Workshops - SAAS Middle School

I designed and led dance movement therapy workshops for 4th to 6th graders at my current and former schools, collaborating with therapist Katie Wild and our middle school counselor. These sessions used mindfulness, storytelling, and movement tools to help students manage anxiety and build focus. We created video resources and shared personal experiences to make the practice accessible. The workshops ended with joyful group dance sessions. Witnessing younger students connect to their bodies with curiosity and confidence affirmed my belief in dance as an inclusive emotional tool.

Borderless World Foundation - Co-Teacher (Grades 10-11)

I co-teach virtual classes with Learning Beyond Boundaries, partnering with the Borderless World Foundation to support girls orphaned in the conflict zones of Jammu and Kashmir. Alongside other volunteers, I lead sessions on English, research, and life skills through a culturally aware and nurturing curriculum. Despite the distance, the connections formed are deeply personal. These weekly sessions have helped me grow not only as an educator but as a global citizen, committed to creating safe, imaginative learning spaces for girls whose lives have been shaped by uncertainty.

Avartan Dance Foundation - Dance Movement Therapy (Grade 11)

After becoming certified in dance movement therapy for Parkinson’s, I began working with the Avartan Dance Foundation under the mentorship of Tanvi Patel. I help lead classes and have introduced MindMoves, my app for motor skill improvement, to participants. The opportunity to see patients use my tool during dance therapy sessions has been incredibly meaningful. I continue to support this community by merging digital accessibility with embodied, artistic healing. My work at Avartan bridges passion and purpose—supporting wellness through culturally rooted dance practices.

Peer Tutor (Grades 9-11)

For three years, I have been a peer tutor at my school, helping students with math, science, history, English, and French. I offer support during designated tutoring hours and in classroom settings, helping classmates develop confidence in their learning process. Whether walking someone through a math problem or reviewing an essay, I strive to make academic support feel approachable and personalized. This work has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of celebrating progress in all forms.
